Montgomery County 4-H presents a 4-H Rabbit Project Informational Workshop for ages 5-19 and their parents on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Virginia Tech's Alphin-Stuart Arena. This two-hour workshop will provide information about the 4-H rabbit project and will have hands-on activities to introduce children to the basics of starting a rabbit project and how to get started in showing rabbits in the area. There will be activities to learn about the most common and popular breeds, general care for rabbits, the costs involved in a rabbit project, and the best places to go to purchase a project rabbit. We will also discuss showing opportunities in area fairs and other shows as well as how to get involved in the American Rabbit Breeders Association. The cost of the workshop is free however participants need to pre-register. Please register by Monday, October 10, 2016 so we will know how many to expect and can plan accordingly.
