The YMCA at Virginia Tech presents Rock Identification 101 Class for ages 13 and above on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 in the YMCA Art Room. We will cover the following cool subjects: The rock cycle, rock versus minerals, types of sedimentary rocks and how they are formed, how features of sedimentary rocks indicate the environments they formed in, identification of local sedimentary rocks, types of metamorphic rocks and the conditions under which they form, and identification of local metamorphic rocks.
