The Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley, the Town of Pulaski and The Southwest Times present The Catalinas in concert on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Jackson Park in Pulaski, VA. Enjoy a live, free, outdoor beach music concert featuring The Catalinas. Fun for the whole family! The Catalinas began in 1957 and is still one of the most popular bands in the southeastern US. Known for their quality, tight sound and energy onstage, they are one of the "in demand" groups for city festivals and private parties, always playing a variety of music that suits all ages. Though known for Beach Music, regionally and nationally for the mega hit and now classic "Summertime's Callin' Me" in 1975, they play all styles to a high standard of excellence. The band has recorded and released over 75 songs, most notably the regional hit "You Haven't The Right" and the above mentioned "Summertime's Callin' Me" which was a large part of creating what is now called "Beach Music".
