Historic Smithfield Plantation presents their 2016 Independence Day Celebration on Monday, July 4, 2016. The celebration will feature: • Revolutionary Cannon Crew Cannon Firing • Blacksmith & Living History Demonstrations • Annual Apple Pie Contest • Children's Activities • House Tours • English Country Dancing (11 am - 1 pm) • Hot Dogs and Lemonade for purchase • Hand Cranked Ice Cream Samples (after Apple Pie Contest) • Reciting of the Declaration of Independence on the front steps • Reciting of the Fincastle Resolution The winner of the Annual Apple Pie Contest will receive a family pack to the Pulaski Yankees home minor league baseball games with prizes for second and third place as well. The rules to enter the contest are simple, bake an apple pie, bring it to our 4th of July Celebration to enter. Delegate Joseph Yost will judge along with our Chairman. There are no entry fees.
