Downtown Blacksburg, Inc. presents the 2016 Art at the Market on Saturday, July 16, 2016 on the lawn of the Virginia Tech Media Building. Art at the Market is Blacksburg’s celebration of fine art and artists. In a sidewalk exposition of unique works, you’ll find abstract acrylics, collage, flowers, gourds, still life, photography, and even stone sculpture. The show begins at 9 am and will be juried at 10 am by judge, artist and co-founder and Director of Arts & Vision for LoCo Arts Tacie Jones. Art at the Market will be held in conjunction with the annual Breakfast at the Farmers’ Market, a family event featuring wonderful locally grown food, live music and the best produce the farmers have to offer! This year the event is also featuring cool fun filled kids art activities sponsored by Mish Mish and The Community Arts Information Office. Including Chalk Art and ink straw painting! Art for the whole family! Art at the Market is presented by Downtown Blacksburg, Inc. with sponsoring support from The Community Arts Information Office, Mellow Mushroom, the Moss Arts Center, Dr.'s Jacobs & Diaz, Matrix Gallery, Fring Benefit, Missh Mish & the National Bank of Blacksburg.
