Beliveau Estate Winery presents Live Music Sundays with Celie Holmes on Sunday, July 31, 2016. Celie Holmes has been singing since before she could whistle, and learned to whistle at the grand old age of four. She loves the vast wealth of the American Songbook, and shares her favorite songs with audiences in and around the Roanoke Valley. Celie's love of the standards is clear in her interpretations. Her performances are lively, fun, and engaging. She's bound to get your fingers snapping and bring a smile to your face. She counts among her influences the great jazz singers and musicians of the 40's, 50's, 60's, and beyond, including Carmen McRae, Blossom Dearie, Ella Fitzgerald, and Sarah Vaughan; and some fellas too: Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Burt Bacharach, Stan Getz. The Winery is open from 12-6 PM these days and serves a light fare menu items from their Blue Gate Bistro, and offers wine tastings all day.
