18th Annual City of Radford Memorial Day Service:

Description: The City of Radford will host its 18th Annual Memorial Day Program on Monday May 30, 2016 starting at 11 am at the Bisset Park Gazebo.

The program on the 150th Anniversary of Memorial Day will feature the Commander of the Radford Army Ammunition Plant, LTC Alicia M. Masson, Radford Vice Mayor Keith Marshall and Delegate Joseph R Yost.

The program will also recognize Robert Lee “Nick” Nicholson, a long time Memorial Day Committee Member and US Army Veteran, who served in WWII with General George Patton’s 3rd Army in Europe.

As in years past, the program will also include:
• Music by the Radford High School Choir and Band
• The Field of Crosses honoring of Radford’s War Dead
• 21 Gun Salute
• Bagpiper Andrew Weeks

The program will be broadcast live on WRAD Radio, AM 1460.

The event is proudly sponsored by: VFW Post 776, American Legion Post 30, the Dublin-Radford Ruritan, the Vietnam Veterans, The Radford News Journal, Radford Parks and Recreation, and the Radford Memorial Day Committee.
