Alexander Black House & Cultural Center hosts the I Love Blacksburg Mini-Fest and Book Launch Party on Friday, June 24, 2016. Come celebrate everything you love about Blacksburg with a free, family-friendly mini-festival. Participate in a downtown scavenger hunt, write Blacksburg-centric haiku, pin your special memories on a map, play Blacksburg bingo, find volunteer opportunities with local nonprofits, and more. The Alexander Black House will be open for exploring as well. At 5:30 pm, join us in the main exhibit room for the official launch of the new book "This Is Where You Belong: The Art and Science of Loving the Place You Live" (Viking/Penguin, 2016), by local author Melody Warnick. She'll do a brief reading, share how she fell in love with Blacksburg as a relatively new resident, and offer ideas on what you can do to feel more at home where you live. A book signing will follow. Refreshments will be available. Stay downtown afterward for the Concert on the Lawn or dinner at one of Blacksburg's great restaurants.
