Newport Recreation Center presents their Open House on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Enjoy a day showcasing what the Newport Recreation Center and Newport area have to offer. Events include: • A Pig Roast Lunch and Fundraiser to support the Rec Center • Live Local Music • Newport Past and Present: An exhibition of traditional craft and fine arts (reception from 11:00 am - 12 pm) • Artisan demonstrations (wool spinning, basket weaving, stone carving, stained glass, and more) • LoCo Arts & Mayapple School's Student Art Show • A silent auction to support The Mayapple Preschool • Kids art activities in the LoCo Arts classroom from 12-3 pm with Melinda Ogle of LoCo Arts • Unveiling of Giles County's first LOVEworks scuplture • The Giles Little Theatre presents Musical Masters: 2016 Broadway Edition at 4 pm • Community Resources Admission is free.
