The Radford University College of Visual and Performing Arts presents an original performance interpreting several paintings in the upcoming exhibition, “Painted Songs & Stories: Contemporary Gond Art from India.”

Adapted from traditional Gond tales as told by the Gond Tribal artists, the Departments of Art, Dance, Design, Music, and Theatre and Cinema draw from their own disciplines to bring the works "The Bana as Bara Deo," "The Story of Creation," "Ganesh Kekra: The Birth of Ganesh," "The Flying Elephant," and "Death and the Woodpecker” to life. With artistic leadership from college faculty directors, choreographers, musicians, and designers, the performances feature student storytellers, dancers and musicians.
