The Summer Musical Enterprise presents Forbidden Broadway's Greatest Hits at Virginia Tech's Haymarket Theater located in the Squires Student Center on Friday, August 7, 2015. The show includes six performances at six different venues across the NRV from July 31st through August 9th. In this long-running Off-Broadway hit musical revue, Broadway's greatest musical legends meet Broadway's greatest satirist in this hilarious, loving, and endlessly entertaining tribute to some of the theatre's greatest stars and songwriters. Shows that are spoofed include Chicago, Annie, West Side Story, Hello Dolly, Fiddler on fhte Roof, Hairspray, Wizard of Oz, Mamma Mia and more. SME has produced a major musical every summer from 1992 to present. The organization has attempted to provide a musical theatre outlet for families in the area and is structured to allow all members of a family to be involved in the production. The opportunity for the youth to be involved in the productions provides a rich learning environment that is consistent with the creative fabric of our community.
