Historic Smithfield Plantation presents their annual Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, July 4, 2015. The celebration will feature: • Canon Firing from the Giles Light Artillery • Blacksmith and Spinning Demonstrations • Annual Apple Pie Contest • Vendors • Food Truck • Adult Beverages from Shooting Creek • Reciting of the Declaration of Independence on the front steps • Reciting of the Fincastle Resolution The Annual Apple Pie Contest starts at noon. Delegate Joseph Yost will judge the pies and pick the best. The winner will receive a season tickets to the Pulaski Yankees home baseball games and the runner up will receive a family pack. You must have your pies registered by 11:50 am the day of the event. It's free to enter. Admission is free. Food and beverages are an additional charge.
