The Floyd Country Store presents Blue Mafia and Wound Tight live in concert on Saturday, May 30th. Formed in 2011 by Dara and Tony Wray, Blue Mafia has become a fan and promoter favorite. Easily recognized yet seldom imitated, Blue Mafia is taking the bluegrass world by storm. They are the 2012 DelFest Band Competition winners, and have twice been awarded 3rd place in the SPBGMA International Band Competition. Blue Mafia has had many great opportunities in their short time together. Some performance highlights include: The Station Inn (Nashville, TN), DelFest(Cumberland, MD), BeanBlossom Bluegrass Festival(IN), Antique Archaeology(Nashville, TN), and the Arcadia Bluegrass Festival (Arcadia, MD). Led by brothers Chris and Ray “Mike” Martin, WoundTight’s unique sound brings forth innovative and sophisticated renderings of their traditional bluegrass roots. Their energetic bluegrass style has captured the attention of fans and judges alike resulting in first place winnings at both the 20th Annual Maury River Fiddlers Convention and the 24th Annual Sedalia Bluegrass Festival.
