The Mountains of Music Homecoming presents the Jubilee Barn Dance featuring the music of Sugar Run on Friday, June 19th near the Newport Community Park. Come celebrate the Sesquicentennial anniversary of the end of the Civil War with a Jubilee Barn Dance featuring Sugar Run and a square dance caller. Period music and refreshments will also be provided. We are encouraging period dress, but you are welcome to come however you are comfortable. Live cannon fire will be provided by the Giles Light Artillery. Proceeds will benefit Historic Smithfield Plantation, The Montgomery 150th Committee and the Giles Historical Society. The address for the barn dance is listed as 734 Bluegrass Trail in Newport, VA. Parking will be available at the Newport Community Park baseball field.
