Description: The Radford University Museum of Earth Sciences presents "An Appalachian Mystery: The Latest in the Case of the Disappearing Mountain Lake." with Professors Skip Watts and George Stephenson as part of their lecture series on Tuesday, April 7th in the Bonnie Hurlburt Hall Auditorium.

The Museum of Earth Sciences lecture series is free and open the public.

Professor of Geology Skip Watts and George Stephenson the geology lab coordinator will lead the lecture. Using video clips from an underwater remotely operated vehicle, aerial mapping techniques and seismic refraction and electrical resistivity tools, their presentation will feature the latest information about a geologic conundrum, the mysterious disappearance of water from Mountain Lake in Giles County, Virginia.

The Radford University Museum of the Earth Sciences is part of the department of geology in the College of Science and Technology and an affiliate of the Virginia Museum of Natural History. The Museum serves as an educational resource for earth science-related themes for the university, K-12 communities and the general public. It is open from October through November and from January through April while RU is in session.
