The Blacksburg Library hosts the Gluten-Free Expo on Saturday, November 8th from 1-4 pm. To recognize November as Gluten-Free Diet Awareness Month, the Blacksburg Library has invited retailers, organizations, and bakeries / restaurants that support those with celiac disease and gluten intolerance to join us in offering a Gluten-Free Expo to the community. Attendees will sample delicious gluten-free foods from the following participants: • The Mellow Mushroom • Bollo’s Café and Bakery • Edible Arrangements • Chef Jeff Bland with U.S. Foods • The Cellar Restaurant • Annie Kay’s Main Street Market • The Himalayan Curry Café • Health Coach Ini Beckman The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Virginia Tech Department of Human Nutrition, Foods, & Exercise, and the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness will provide information about the signs, symptoms, and treatment of gluten intolerance. Free raffle prizes provided by Kroger, Simply Gluten-Free Magazine, Bollo’s, and talk show host and author Elisabeth Hasselbeck will be offered during the Expo. Attendees will be in for an extraordinary learning and tasting experience!
