The New River Community College Fiddle, Banjo & Dance Club presents Mountain Thunder and Friday Night Dance Band in concert on Saturday, February 14th in Edwards Hall room 117. Adam McPeak & Mountain Thunder are a bluegrass band led by 17 year old Adam McPeak who's been the band's front man since he was 13. The band has been very successful in their career so far. winning many first place adult competitions, as well as individual successes! For more information, visit: http://www.adammcpeak.com The Friday Night Dance Band is an old-time band from Callaway, Va. Over the years, the band has played at many different venues including jam sessions at Cannaday’s Store in Boones Mill and the Floyd Country Store in Floyd and regular fundraising shows at the Floyd Fire Department. The band also received a commendation from the Virginia General Assembly for their contributions to the community of Redwood and town of Rocky Mount, where they played for benefit dances. Admission is free and all are welcome. The doors open at 5 pm. The jamborees are held on the second Saturdays of each month October through April at Edwards Hall, a Crooked Road affiliated venue.
