Date: September 17, 2014
Time: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Venue: Virginia Tech Drillfield
Description: As part of Sustainability Week 2014, join in the Virginia Tech Active Commute Celebration at the Virginia Tech Drillfield on Wednesday, September 17, 2014.

Is walking, biking, or taking the bus to campus a part of your daily routine? If so, join us during Sustainability Week 2014 for the Active Commute Celebration! Enjoy a complimentary breakfast sponsored by the Alternative Transportation Office! Bring your bike, and folks from the Hokie Bike Hub will provide bike checks. Speak with local representatives from Blacksburg Transit, Megabus, Zimride, and Zipcar about all of the alternative transportation options available on and off-campus! At the information table, grab a campus bike map, spoke card, and some BT giveaways! The annual celebration aims to help advance Virginia Tech’s sustainability initiatives and help faculty, staff, and students find affordable commuting methods.

Since 2007, the Town of Blacksburg has partnered with Sustainable Blacksburg and Virginia Tech to offer a week-long slate of events in mid-September giving town residents and university students lots of ways to "Celebrate - Educate - Motivate" around sustainability issues. Altogether, there will be 16 fun, informative, and inspiring events.
