The Alexander Black House & Cultural Center invites you to enjoy its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by children's activities, self-guided tours, refreshments and more on Wednesday, August 6th. At nearly 10,000 square feet and located in the heart of downtown Blacksburg’s Arts and Cultural District, the newly renovated first floor which represents phase one of the restoration, is home to community events, celebrations, meetings, museum space, live music and a rotating art gallery showcasing local artists in an inviting and elegant atmosphere. Able to accommodate up to 250 guests inside and out for events and performances, the center is now Blacksburg’s premiere outlet for activities highlighting the cultural contributions the region has offered for centuries.
