The Summer Musical Enterprise their 23rd production Monty Python's Spamalot at the Blacksburg High School Auditorium on July 24-26th and July 31-August 2nd at 7:30 pm and on July 27th and August 3rd at 2:30 pm. Spamalot is a musical lovingly ripped off from the motion picture Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The play retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. Did we mention the bevy of beautiful show girls? The 2005 Broadway production won three Tony Awards, including "Best Musical," and received 14 Tony Award nominations. Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for seniors and youth. SME has produced a major musical every summer from 1992 to present. The organization has attempted to provide a musical theatre oulet for families in the area and is structured to allow all members of a family to be involved in the production. The opportunity for the youth to be involved in the productions provides a rich learning environment that is consistent with the creative fabric of our community.
