Description: Author Adam Gopnik presents "The Arts and Humanities as the Foundation of Scientific Inquiry" on Saturday, September 6th starting at 2 pm in the Moss Arts Center’s Anne and Ellen Fife Theatre at Virginia Tech.

Adam Gopnik, author, staff writer for the New Yorker, and best-selling social commentator will share his thoughts on why we should study arts and humanities in a society where the sciences are viewed as the primary sources of wisdom during his free talk.

Gopnik is an award-winning journalist who speaks with singular wit, eloquence and insight on modern life and culture. His talk is presented by the School of Visual Arts as part of the College of Architecture and Urban Studies’ 50th Anniversary Celebration and Creative Writing, ICAT, and the Center for the Arts.
