With expressive lyrics, captivating vocals and a unique take on traditional mountain music, the trio blends elements of bluegrass, gospel, folk and country with a distinctly old-time energy. Based out of Charlottesville, VA, Tara plays and writes in a couple of different musical projects. Her most recent solo project, Tara Mills with Strings Attached, incorporates some of the areas most talented musicians performing original blue ridge folk and bluegrass. The band consists of an upright bass, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, banjo, mandolin, and sometimes fiddle and dobro.

Tara Mills with Strings Attached and Yankee Dixie have played at many music festivals including The Festy Experience, Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion, Campout East, Camp Barefoot, The Crozet Music Festival, The Blue Ridge Oyster Festival, Mountain Cove Music Festival, and many other venues, radio and television broadcasts.
