Description: The Jacksonville Center for the Arts offers the three-day Watercolor Workshop with instructor Sterling Edwards starting on Friday, October 31st and continuing through Sunday, November 2nd meeting at 9 am - 5 pm each day.

Whether a beginning watercolor artist or an experienced painter you’ll find the watercolor workshops with Sterling Edwards to be informative, inspirational and fun. Having studied and taught watercolors for over twenty years, Sterling has developed a style of painting that is uniquely his.

Using primarily large brushes and transparent watercolor, he incorporates mood, light, and a sense of place in his paintings. Combine this with a multitude of subjects and techniques and you have a workshop where everyone, regardless of their individual experience, will gain new insight about this wonderful medium called watercolor. But Sterling goes beyond merely teaching technique. Color theory, design and composition, saving white paper, and building rich values are just a few of the topics that are covered in depth at every workshop.
Minimum Age: Responsible Young Adult
