The Jacksonville Center for the Arts offers the five-day large figure workshop Holiday Cloth Dolls from Monday, October 13th through Friday, October 17th meeting 9am-5pm daily. We will be creating the skeleton (pvc pipe) and then wrap with strips of quilt batting. The figure will then be 'skinned' with fabric. Add head, hands, feet and hair. Finally we will create clothing to complete the figure. Faces and hands are needle sculpted using cotton knit. The finished standing doll will be between 24” and 30” or can make the doll seated. Students can make their figure into a child, adult, holiday figure, elf, witch or whatever they wish.
