Halloween Kidfest:

Date: October 26, 2014
Time: 1:00 - 4:00 PM
Venue: The Floyd Center for the Arts
Description: The Jacksonville Center offers their Halloween Kidfest on Sunday, October 26th.

Children and parents are invited to dress up and join us for this free, family-fun event.

The Jax Halloween KidFest has been a free community service for 13 years. 2014 will be no different with many good old traditional aspects and several new activities for all ages. Come for the tots, come for the frightening fun, come for the games and make-it-yourself workshops.

Returning from years past will be face painting by Dede McGrath, fortune-telling, ghoulish garb, pumpkin painting, and sweet as well as savory treats and refreshments. There will be a Costume Parade (possibly 2 of them!), and new this year is the FREAKY PHOTO BOOTH!

Children can pose before this freaky stage setting and have their photos taken — and then will be able to hand-decorate the photos to use as personalized door signs for their rooms, or as seasonal cards, or as gifts for grandma and grandpa. Another new activity is a workshop to hand-make small figures (either spooky or friendly) in clay, led by Kathleen Dawes. Whatever participants make in this special workshop can be taken home with them at the end of the day.
