Fifth Annual Radford RiverFest and Chili Cook-Off:

Description: The Radford Chamber of Commerce along with Ameriprise Financial sponsor the Fifth Annual River Fest on Saturday, September 28th at Bisset Park.

Enjoy a day full of family fun with live music, a chili cook-off complete with tastings, corn hole and horseshoe competitions, and children’s activities along the banks of the New River.

Riverfest, a daylong celebration of the New River, is being organized by the Radford Chamber of Commerce. The full day of fun is a great way to spend some time with your family in one of Radford’s most beloved parks, Bisset Park.

Schedule:
• 9 am - Riverway 5k Run (Shelter #2)
• 9 am - Bloodmobile (Tennis Courts)
• 10 am - Horseshoe & Cornhole Tournaments (Old Pool Parking Lot)
• 12-5 pm - Chili Tastings, Beverage Garden & Vendors
• 12-5 pm - Children's Games & Crafts
• 12-5 pm - Live Music by the Southern Nights Band
• 12:45 pm - Appearance by Sparky the Fire Robot & The Radford Fire Department
• 1:45 pm - Dance Performance by Dancer's Dreams

The festivities will begin with the Riverway 5k in the morning at 9 am to benefit the American Heart Association and a free 1 mile fun run for the kids will begin at 10 am at Shelter #2. The 5k is being sponsored by Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.

Corn Hole and Horseshoes Tournaments begin at 10 am at the old pool parking lot. Corn hole and horseshoe registration forms are available at the Radford Chamber of Commerce or by calling 540-639-2202.

Chili tastings will begin at 12 pm. Be sure to vote for your favorite batch of chili! In addition to chili tastings, enjoy live music from the Southern Nights Band from noon - 5 pm at the gazebo as well as local vendors. Dancer's Dreams will perform at 1:45 pm at the Gazebo Stage.

Admission is $5 for those 12 years old and older and under 12 are free.

Children’s activities will be ongoing throughout the day from 12-5 pm. Activities include Children's Games and Crafts and a visit from Sparky the Fire Robot and the Radford Fire Department at 12:45 pm.

Everyone is encouraged to bring a chair or blanket and spend the day in the park.
