The Outdoor Classroom continues the 2013 Summer Nature Series with a presentation entitled: "Conserving Our Forest Pharmacy: Wild-harvesting Wildflowers" on Thursday, July 11th led by Forest Ecologist Christine Small from the Radford University Department of Biology. Appalachian forests are home to hundreds of edible and medicinal wildflowers, many of which are collected and sold throughout the world. Learn about wild-harvesting and our work to conserve Appalachian medicinal plants. Find out how you can get involved! Park at the Main Entrance to Wildwood Park at Main/Grove or the Sundell/Park Road lot. It is a 5 minute walk to the classroom in the center of the park.
