The Outdoor Classroom continues the 2012 Summer Nature Series with a special presentation: "Mice and voles and shrews, oh my! Native small mammals of Radford." on Thursday, August 16th. Radford University Biologist Karen Francl will lead the hands on class. Come and take a closer look at some of Radford's common small mammal inhabitants, with live animals on-hand! We'll talk about their important role in the ecosystem, and ways that biologists catch them. Bring your cameras for close-ups of our native mice and voles. (Hands-on participation is allowed, but not required.) Park at the Main Entrance to Wildwood Park at Main/Grove or the Sundell/Park Road lot. It is a 5 minute walk to the classroom in the center of the park.
