Description:
Virginia Tech faculty, staff, and students who have published books in the last year will be honored at the Virginia Tech Authors Day reception, held at the University Libraries on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 4:30 p.m.

This is the seventh year the campus has honored the book publications of its authors. The event is co-sponsored by the Office of the Provost, the Office of the Vice President for Research, and the Virginia Tech chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.

Virginia Tech Authors Day recognizes the academic contributions of published authors to the university. This year, Tom Ewing, associate dean for graduate studies and research in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, will discuss his recent book, “Separate Schools: gender, policy and practice in postwar Soviet education,” which won the 2011 Albert L. Sturm Award for Excellence in Faculty Research awarded by the Virginia Tech chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. A reception will follow the remarks.

The event will be held on the first floor of Newman Library and is free and open to the public. If you plan to attend, please RSVP by emailing Lori Lee or calling 540-231-5069.
