The Wilderness Road Regional Museum hosts the First Annual Jeffries Jam on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the historic Ingles Tavern with parking at Mountain View United Methodist Church in Dublin, VA.

The Jeffries Jam will feature Ricky Cox & Willard Gayheart, Carrie Hinkley of Virginia Hollow, Indian Run Duo, Tim Thornton, and Sam Leary & Friends.

Music Schedule:
• 3:30-4:15 PM: Ricky Cox & Willard Gayheart
• 4:30-5:15 PM: Virginia Hollow Duo
• 5:30-6:15 PM: Indian Run Stringband Duo
• 6:30-7:15 PM: Tim Thornton
• 7:15-8:00 PM: Sam Leary & Friends

Tours of Ingles Tavern will be offered during the jam.

We are requesting a $15.00 donation with proceeds given in Bud Jeffries’ name to Fidos Pantry and the local Pulaski County Animal Shelter. Donations can be made through the museum’s PayPal account or in cash when you catch the shuttle.

Colonel Bud Jeffries was a great historian, a brave soldier, a community leader, a lover of animals, a friend to all and one of the most respected and admired citizens in the New River Valley. As a direct descendant of Mary Draper Ingles and Colonel William Ingles, Bud was the go-to expert on the Ingles Family history and honored that legacy in many ways to enrich our community. He was likewise the N&W 611 historian and loved to share that history as well. His knowledge and generosity in sharing it will be as we remember him at the museums, but his impact is far greater than that. During his service in the Army, he was awarded the Silver Star and Bronze Star.

Ricky Cox, from Floyd County, VA, is a folklorist, musician and historian and taught courses in English and Appalachian Studies at Radford University for over thirty years.

Willard Gayheart is a pencil artist and musician from Southwest Virginia. He is originally from Eastern Kentucky, working mostly from the theme "Nostalgic Glimpses of the Appalachians". His works are positive images of Appalachian Culture, presenting the region as a place alive with interesting personalities.

Besides his artistic talent with the pencil, Willard is also an accomplished bluegrass musician having played as a member of the bluegrass band The Highlanders. He not only picks the guitar and sings, but writes many of the songs himself. On one album, 5 out of the 10 songs were written by him. All the songs written by Willard reflect his experiences and love for the mountain way of life.

Virginia Hollow is a mixture of Americana, bluegrass, country, indie and rock. A singer-songwriter band that performs songs written by lead singer Carrie Hinkley, along with an occasional handpicked cover or two.

Virginia Hollow is a band and a sound born from the hills, valleys and mountains of Appalachia. Their performances and music take you on a journey fraught with raw emotions and stories of love, trust, betrayal and longing. When all is said and done, the haunting melodies of Carrie Hinkley's soulful voice are hard to shake off and instead keep returning and replaying in one's mind, like an untamed mantra of beauty and tragedy. This is a band whose time has come and needs to be reckoned with.

All participant parking for event will be at Mountain View Methodist Church, 6648 Wilderness Road, Dublin. A shuttle van will run in 15 minute loops to and from Ingles Tavern throughout the event.

Note that there will be no access to the historical site prior to the event. The shuttle from Mountain View Church is the only access point. Please do not attempt to drive directly to the Ingles Tavern, as gates will be locked and you may endanger others.
