Description:
The Town of Pulaski presents the Caboose 1776 Reveal on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at the historic Pulaski Train Station.
Join a celebration of Railroad Heritage and America's 250th Anniversary! The Town of Pulaski invites you to attend the official unveiling of Caboose 1776.
Originally built for the Wabash Railroad between 1941-1946 and later inherited by the Norfolk & Western Railway following their 1964 merger, the historic caboose model C18 was selected to receive a special red, white, and blue paint scheme during America’s Bicentennial celebration in 1976 and was renumbered “1776” in honor of the nation’s 200th birthday.
Now, 50 years later, Pulaski’s caboose has been transformed into a patriotic tribute to both our railroad heritage and our nation’s history.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
Please join us as we reveal the restoration and celebrate this unique piece of American and Pulaski history.
The Pulaski Train Station is located at 20 South Washington Avenue in Pulaski, VA.
