The Charles & Ona B Free Memorial Library (Dublin Library) presents their June Silent Lounge Theater featuring "The General" on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

Join us for one of the most beloved films of all time! Buster Keaton's masterpiece follows an engineer trying to recapture his stolen train during the Civil War.

"The General" is a 1926 slapstick adventure comedy rated passed starring Buster Keaton, Marion Mack and Glen Cavendar. The silent film was also co-written and co-directed by Buster Keaton.

Movie Synopsis:
After being rejected by the Confederate military, not realizing it was due to his crucial civilian role, an engineer must single-handedly recapture his beloved locomotive after it is seized by Union spies and return it through enemy lines.
