The Center for Communicating Science at Virginia Tech presents a public talk with Sarah McAnulty, founder of Skype a Scientist, titled "Putting a Friendly Face to Science with Skype a Scientist" on Friday, November 15, 2019 at the Auditorium within the Fralin Life Science Institute on the campus of Virginia Tech.
Are you eager to get involved in science outreach activities, but not sure about the time and money commitments that may be involved? Skype a Scientist allows you to "visit" a school classroom without leaving the comfort of your lab or office, and the founder of this program is visiting Blacksburg to tell us all about it!
Skype a Scientist founder and squid researcher Sarah McAnulty will speak about her experiences with Skype a Scientist, a program that matches researchers with school classrooms and brings real scientists into schools through Skype.
The talks are open to the public and free of charge.
