The Virginia Tech Perspective Gallery, located in the Squires Student Center, presents the Opening Reception for The Peace Project on Friday, November 8, 2019.
The Peace Project has been an 18 month journey where community members, Virginia Tech students, faculty and staff were invited to create simple drawings on blank puzzles of their visions of peace. Installed on wooden pillars (pillars of peace), the puzzles represent the cumulative effect of many working together to create a unified vision of how we can all be a piece of the solution to world peace.
During the exhibition patrons will be invited to add dialogue to the installation through a collaborative writing venture linking thoughts on peace.
Admission is free and open to the public.
The exhibit runs from October 25 – December 14, 2019.
Gallery hours are Monday from 6:00-9:00 pm, Tuesday-Saturday from 12:00-9:00 pm and Sunday from 1:00-5:00 pm.
Perspective Gallery is located in the second floor gallery in Virginia Tech’s Squires Student Center at 290 College Avenue in Blacksburg, VA.
