Description:
The Floyd County Chamber of Commerce presents their 5th Annual Rubber Duck Race on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at On The Water in Floyd, VA.

Schedule:
• 12:00-1:15 pm: Day of Duck Purchasing
• 1:30 pm: Duck Drop

Watch the Rubber Duck Race, enjoy summertime fun music from local DJ Linda DeVito and fun activities for kids and families and enjoy a grilled hot dog or hamburger meal for $5.00. Attendees will also have the opportunity for some fun 1969-themed photo booth opportunities and receive free 50 Years of Love goodies. In addition, kayaks, canoes, SUPs and tubes will available for rental on site.

Ducks are $5.00 each and can be purchased at the event from 12:00-1:15 pm, at the Floyd Chamber and online with a $1.00 processing fee until Friday, August 23rd at 6:00 pm at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/63148396554.

Prizes:
• First Place: $300.00
• Second Place: $200.00
• Third Place: $100.00

Winners do not need to be present to win.

Admission to the event is free.

The start of the race is the bridge at the intersection of Slusher Store Road and Thunderstruck Lane and the end of the race is just past the intersection of Thunderstruck and Sowers Road. The food and music are also at On The Water.

Proceeds from this event will support the Floyd Visitor Center operated under a partnership between the Floyd County Chamber of Commerce and the Floyd Tourism Office. The Floyd Visitor Center serves both visitors and residents and the mission includes providing support to all Floyd County businesses.

Parking is available at On The Water, located about a half mile to the left as you come to the intersection of Slusher Store Road and Thunderstruck. Dedicated parking on flat land close to the administrative services table, food and music is reserved for those with disabilities.

You are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. The event site is a freshly mowed grass field.

In case of inclement weather that makes river hazardous for the rubber duck race, the event will be postponed.

On The Water is located at 2053 Thunderstruck Road in Floyd, Virginia.
