Description:
Science on Tap New River Valley presents "Beyond Blaming the Dog: The Science of Animal Flatulence" on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Rising Silo Brewery in Blacksburg, VA.
Wildlife biologist Nick Caruso will be talking about his book in depth, which recently made the New York Times bestseller list, "Does It Fart? The Definitive Guide to Animal Flatulence". There will be trivia, with hilarious factoids to impress your friends with later, and a book signing at the end.
The Definitive Field Guide to Animal Flatulence" tackles a subject that is often rife with hilarity and shrouded in mystery, farts of the animal kingdom. Find out about fartful and fartless animals, and why some farts are especially loud, smelly, numerous, utilitarian, or silent though usually not deadly except in the case of the beaded lacewing.
This event is free and open to the public.
Science On Tap New River Valley community celebrates scientific thought and explores new discoveries through monthly events with a featured researcher. We kick off the event with games, comedy, or other fun things. Then, an invited guest researcher demos their research. And then we'll discuss, ask questions, learn together, and mingle.
