New River Community College's third annual Comic Con will be held in Edwards Hall room 117 at their Dublin, VA campus and is sponsored by the library.
The Comic Con will include guest artists, authors, panel presenters and dealers from throughout the New River Valley and beyond. There will be a costume contest for all ages with categories for children, amateurs and cosplayers.
Children can wear Halloween costumes and cosplayers are invited to come as their favorite comic book, sci-fi, fantasy or horror characters.
The line-up includes:
• Dan Delby (Author/Artist Astronomical Comics)
• Shannon Houff (Author Summer Sacrifices)
• Dionysis Metalcult
• Gary Kwapisz (Artist on Marvel's Conan the Barbarian)
• 501st Legion / Garrison Tyrannus (International Star Wars Cosplay organization)
• Glen Richardson (Creator of Sgt. Sasquatch)
• Jimmy "Boogie Woogie Man" Valiant (Former Pro Wrestler)
and many others.
The event will run from 10 am to 4 pm and is family-friendly, open to the public and admission is free of charge.
