Description:
The YMCA at Virginia Tech presents a 12-Week Adult Modern Dance starting on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 in the YMCA Dance Room from 5:15-6:30 pm each night.

Modern dance is a fantastic way to blend physical fitness with artistic inquiry. This class for both beginning and intermediate movers is grounded in the basic human movement patterns referred to as “Bartinieff Movement Fundamentals.”

Total body connectivity will be the underlying theme of our work together. We will start with gentle warm up activities, gradually increasing in rigor and intensity. Creative expression will be introduced through improvisational exercises. We’ll ultimately progress towards fun, full-bodied movement phrases. Join us!

Rachel Rugh is the dance instructor and the class is for ages 14 and above.
