VA Momentum presents the 4th Annual Blacksburg Turkey Trot and The Gobble Gobble Kids Dash on Thursday, November 24, 2022 starting and ending at the intersection of Draper Road and Roanoke Street in downtown Blacksburg, VA.

Race Schedule:
• 8:00 AM: Gobble Gobble Kids Dash Begins
• 8:15 AM: Announcements & National Anthem
• 8:30 AM: Blacksburg Turkey Trot Begins
• ~9:30 AM: Awards Presentation

The Blacksburg Turkey Trot is the perfect mix of fun and fitness on Thanksgiving morning. The Blacksburg Turkey Trot features a 5K course that runs throughout Blacksburg via the Huckleberry Trail. The Kids Dash is a 1/2 mile out-and-back course, beginning at the start line.

The 5k course is designed with all skill levels of walkers and runners in mind. It's ideal for first-timers and veteran runners alike. The 5K course will not only provide water stations, but pumpkin pie stations! Awards will be given to first place male and female finishers in multiple age groups. The Turkey Trot is a professionally timed event, you'll receive a race bib and chip timing device at packet pickup, but don't let that deter you from coming dressed in your favorite Thanksgiving-themed running gear!

The Gobble Gobble Kids Dash is a can’t-miss tradition for kids on Thanksgiving. They’ll be energized by the roar of the crowd and feel the freedom of wind in their face as they run through the streets of Blacksburg. Kids Dash participants will finish prior to the start of the Blacksburg Turkey Trot.

Note: One parent may run with any child 8 or younger.

The cost is $30.00 for the Blacksburg Turkey Trot before the race and $40.00 for day of registration. The Gobble Gobble Kids Dash is $20.00 not including online processing fees.

Note: Online registration closes on Tuesday, November 22nd at noon. Walk-up registration will be available during packet pickup on Wednesday, November 23rd for $40.00.

All race packets must be picked on Wednesday, November 23rd at Blacksburg Interfaith Food Pantry from 12:00-6:00 PM. There will be no race day pickup.

Sign up by Sunday, November 13th to guarantee you get a long sleeve Thanksgiving Turkey Trot shirt. Registration also includes a Turkey Trot race bib, chip timing device and other race goodies.

There will be a canned food collection and non-perishable food drive for the Interfaith Food Pantry. Each participant is asked to bring one canned good or non-perishable to packet pickup. More than one item is welcomed and encouraged.

In addition to the food collection, a cash portion of the proceeds from the race will go directly to the Interfaith Food Pantry.

Strollers and leashed pets are welcome.
