The Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech presents the musical "Waitress" on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.

Meet Jenna, a waitress and expert pie-maker who dreams of a way out of her small town and rocky marriage. Pouring her heart into her pies, she crafts desserts that mirror her topsy-turvy life such as "The Key (Lime) to Happiness Pie" and “Betrayed By My Eggs Pie.” When a baking contest in a nearby county—and a satisfying encounter with someone new—show Jenna a chance at a fresh start, she must find the courage to seize it. Change is on the menu, as long as Jenna can write her own perfectly personal recipe for happiness.

Brought to life by a groundbreaking all-female creative team, this hilarious hit Broadway musical features original music and lyrics by Grammy Award winner Sara Bareilles (Brave and Love Song); a book by acclaimed screenwriter Jessie Nelson (I Am Sam); original choreography by Lorin Latarro (Les Liaisons Dangereuses and Waiting for Godot), recreated by tour choreographer Abbey O’Brien; and original direction by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (Hair and Pippin), recreated by tour director Susanna Wolk.

Tickets range from $45.00-$90.00 depending on seat location and tickets for students with ID and youth 18 and under range from $25.00-$70.00.

This performance is recommended for ages 13 and up.

Parking is available in the North End Parking Garage on Turner Street for $5.00. Payment must be made in cash at the time of entry.

In accordance with current Virginia Tech university policy for indoor events, all faculty, staff, students, and visitors to the Moss Arts Center are required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.
