Up on the Roof presents their July 2021 event which is their 2021 Kickoff Event on Thursday, July 22, 2021 starting at 5:30 PM on the rooftop of Kent Square in Blacksburg, VA.

Enjoy food, beverages, live music, fun and good friends! Live music will be provided by Appalachian Space Train and food will be provided by Bull & Bones Brewhaus & Grill. United Way NRV is also hosting a school supply drive for local children.

Up on the Roof is a social event for creative professionals and grad students. The event was designed to bring fun locals, grad students and professionals together for the purposes of socializing and enjoying our downtown venues. We meet on the last Thursday of every month from April through September on the rooftop of the Kent Square parking lot from 5:30-8:00 PM.

Appalachian Space Train hails from Floyd, VA. This four piece band rocks the stage and delivers explosive rockadelic funkabilly tunes.

Down in the hollers of Southwest VA, a group of intergalactic space travelers are embarking on a voyage of the cosmos aboard a space train of sounds. Using precision tuned instruments, they navigate the solar systems of consciousness.

All of our beverages are local and regional. We offer only craft, local brew, local wine (when available), cider, water and food from local venues.

You will get a wristband at the door with your donation. IDs are required. The wristband will get you 1-3 adult beverages and food samples.

In order to keep the high quality of our events through the season and help us attract young and creative professionals in the area that we hope will attend our events, we are asking you to consider donating $4.00-$9.00 depending on the amount of drinks you want to consume at the entrance to our non-profit,

Non-drinkers the cost to get in is $4.00 to help us cover our overhead, food and entertainment costs.

If you do not bring your own reusable Up on the Roof cup, the cups are $1.00 each in addition to your donation.

At the end of the year, Up on the Roof donates a portion of our proceeds to a local charity.

You must be 21 to enter. Please bring your ID. Please adhere to our policy: No pets and please do not bring infants and/or children.
