The Virginia Master Naturalists New River Chapter presents an Information Session on Becoming a Virginia Master Naturalist on Saturday, November 16, 2019 in Room 210 within the New Classroom Building on the campus of Virginia Tech.

Curious about nature and want to promote environmental knowledge? Then become a Virginia master naturalist (VMN). The VMN program is a state-sponsored, community-based natural resources volunteer organization. Virginia master naturalists are volunteer educators, citizen scientists, and stewards helping Virginia conserve and manage natural resources and public lands.

Learn about becoming a VMN at our upcoming Basic Training Course starting in January 2020.

Adults 18 and older can apply. Youth, ages 14-17, may apply under specific conditions.

The New River Valley Chapter of Virginia Master Naturalists is part of the Virginia Master Naturalist Program, a state-wide corps of community-based volunteers who work to care for Virginia's natural resources and public lands. After basic training in natural resource topics, we volunteer as educators, citizen scientists, and stewards helping Virginia conserve and manage its natural resources.
