FIRST Chesapeake District presents a FIRST Tech Challenge Tournament: Christiansburg Qualifier on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Auburn Middle School.

Tentative Tournament Schedule:
• 10:30 AM: Opening Ceremony
• 10:45 AM: Qualifications Matches
• 12:00 PM: Lunch for Teams and Volunteers
• 12:45 PM: Qualification Matches
• 2:30 PM: Alliance Selections
• 3:00 PM: Elimination & Finals
• 5:30 PM: Awards and Closing Ceremony

FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) offers a robotic competition for grades 7-12 to be challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format. Robotics teams from Virginia and Maryland will compete to win a place at the FIRST Tech Challenge State Championship Sponsored by Capital One at Atlee High School in Mechanicsville on February 21, 2020.

Teams are evaluated not only on robot performance, but their STEM outreach, control system, an engineering notebook and a concept FIRST robotics calls "Gracious Professionalism".

Visitors can see students in an amazing experience, celebrate their hard work, have fun, make new friendships and are exposed to STEM ideas!
