The Town of Narrows and the Narrows Parks & Recreation presents the 69th Annual Narrows Homecoming Festival and July 4th Celebration on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at the Narrows Town Park.

Schedule:
• 11:00 am: 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament begins
• 11:30 am: Children's Parade Line-Up on Monroe Street behind Ragsdale Field
• 12:00 pm: Children's Parade begins
• 12:00 pm: DJ Bryan Stafford
• 12:00-5:00 pm: American Legion Bingo (upper shelter)
• 12:15 pm: Destiny Quartet
• 12:30 pm: Flag Raising Ceremony by American Legion
• 1:00 pm: 4 on 4 Volleyball Tournament
• 1:00-6:00 pm: Games below the lower shelter
• 1:00-8:00 pm: Free Inflatables (tennis court)
• 1:15 pm: Simplest Form
• 2:15-4:45 pm: Open Mic
• 5:00-7:00 pm: Barren Minds
• 7:30 pm: Welcome by Mayor John Davis and Dedication to J.B. Buckland
• 8:00-10:00 pm: The Jared Stout Band Concert
• 10:00 pm: Fireworks Show

Enjoy the annual Children's Parade, outdoors activities, live music all day with an evening concert featuring live music from Barren Minds and The Jared Stout Band, playground area for ages 6 months to 5 years old, 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, 4-on-4 Volleyball Tournament, free inflatables for kids of all ages, bingo in the upper shelter, kids and adult games setup throughout the park, a variety of food and other vendors and finish the evening with a fireworks show.

Get ready to experience the high-octane energy and soulful sound of the Jared Stout Band! This alt-country powerhouse hails from Southwestern Virginia and is known for their unique blend of Appalachian rhythm and blues.

As runners-up for the "On-The-Rise" award at FloydFest 22, the Jared Stout Band delivers an unforgettable performance by bringing their own energetic and soulful original songs to the stage. Jared Stout's relatable songwriting and powerful voice are front and center, supported by a group of audibly and emotionally dynamic musicians.

With their captivating sound, The Jared Stout Band will hold you on to every note, creating a mesmerizing and unforgettable live music experience.

Formed in 2018, they became an area favorite winning the 2020 Rockn to Lockn competition. A highly versatile group that has the ability to take any stage and own it with their energetic mix of covers, mashups, and soulful originals. You won't want to miss this chance to see one of the most exciting acts in the alt-country scene!

Barren Minds plays a mix of 60s, 70s and 80s rock as well as some original material that has a blues and rock influence.

The band was originally formed while they were students at Christiansburg High, they placed multiple times in the annual Shelor Motor Mile Grow The Future Regional High School Talent Show.

The 3-on-3 Double Elimination Basketball Tournament will have the following divisions: Grades 3rd-5th, 6th-8th, 9th and up. The fee is $10.00 per player.

The 4-vs-4 Double Elimination Volleyball Tournament will have a 6th-8th and 9th-Adult divisions. The fee is $10.00 per player.

The Children's Parade is open to all children to walk or ride bikes, scooters and peddle cars and to dress up patriotic. Line-up begins at 11:30 am on Monroe Street. Note: No gasoline powered rides allowed.
