For almost 30 years the dramatic story of colonial heroine Mary Draper Ingles came to life on an outdoor stage at the historic Ingles Farm in Radford, Virginia. This summer a new version of the play returns for its third season! Join us for a look at life on the frontier during the French and Indian War and discover how a young woman escapes captivity and makes her way back home to the New River Valley!

This year the outdoor drama will be held right next to the New River, at 101 University Drive in Radford, VA, in Radford University's Lot FF. The New River is the very river Mary followed on her courageous journey back to freedom and family from Shawnee captivity over hundreds of treacherous miles.

Preferred seating is $20.00 and provides you with a reserved seat centered in front of the stage. General admission is $15.00 and guests must bring their own chair and can choose a spot anywhere in the expansive viewing area. Children under 12 are free. Chair rentals for children under 12 are $5.00.

Be sure to arrive early to see musician Jim Lloyd play "Music from the Blue Ridge" for about a half hour before the 6:30 pm showtimes.

It took many thousands of heroic frontier men and women like Mary Draper Ingles and her family to carve out a new life in the wilderness that later became our home in the New River Valley. Don't miss her story!

In the event of inclement weather, the play may be delayed or cancelled.
