RunAbout Sports presents the 2019 Downtown Sundown 5K® on Saturday, June 15, 2019 in downtown Blacksburg, VA as part of the Summer Solstice Festival beginning near the stage on Draper Road.
Join the fun and run the streets and trails of Blacksburg at sunset! The Downtown Sundown 5k® starts and finishes on Draper Road in the heart of the Summer Solstice Street Festival featuring crafts, live music, food, drink, and more from 1:00-11:00 pm.
The 5K course loops from downtown through Blacksburg on roads and paved footpaths. All miles will be marked. Water will be available on the course.
Advance registration by June 3, 2019 is $20.00. After June 3rd, advance registration is $22.00 and is $25.00 for race day entry.

Race day registration will take place on the lawn of the Alexander Black House on Draper Road from 3:00-8:00 pm. Race day registration for the event will close promptly at 8:00 pm.
Race shirts are guaranteed to all who register before June 3, 2019. Extra shirts will be printed to the best of our abilities and calculations, but due to printing time constraints we can only guarantee a shirt to those who register before the deadline.
All runners must wear reflective, light colored shirt and carry a cyclume, glowstick or LED light. The first 300 runners registered will receive a free glowstick in their race packet.
Awards will be presented under the stars to the Overall Top Three male and female finishers. The first male and female masters (40+) and grand masters (50+) will receive an award. Age group awards will be awarded three deep, male and female, in the following categories: below 16, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29,30-34, 35-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Runners are eligible for one award, which will be determined in the following order of priority: overall, masters, grand masters, age group. Awards will not be mailed.
Proceeds benefit Blacksburg High School Cross Country and Track & Field Programs and the Summer Solstice Fest.
Post Race: Post race food and beverages will be available at the finish. Hotdogs, burgers, chips, soda, beer and wine (must be 21 and possess your ID) will also be available for purchase as part of the festival.
No animals on the course during the race, headphones are discouraged and strollers & baby joggers need to start at the back.
