Historic Smithfield Plantation presents the Blacksburg Community Band in concert on Sunday, July 22, 2018.

The Blacksburg Community Band, under the direction of Jay A. Durner, will be performing a variety of contemporary and classical arrangements for band at Historic Smithfield Plantation.

The Blacksburg Community Band, Inc. is an all-volunteer community organization formed in 1989 under the auspices of the Department of Parks and Recreation in the Town of Blacksburg, Virginia. The band is under the direction of David McKee.

The ensemble is open to individuals of all ages and ability levels from the New River Valley and surrounding areas and performs in an average of 20 concerts each year throughout the New River Valley. The band was incorporated in Virginia as a non-profit corporation in 2007.
