The Black Dog Beach Music Festival welcomes you with Chateau Morrisette wine tastings, sales by the glass or bottle, beers on tap, food, art, and craft vendors and of course an afternoon of beach music to get you and your friends moving!

"South Carolina's Finest Show Band" The Fantastic Shakers open the festival, with featured performers Carolina Beach Music legends the Embers.

Enjoy select red and white flights, all our wines available by the bottle or glass, festival foods and a full afternoon of beach music!

Admission includes tastings through the afternoon, on site parking and entertainment.

The Embers featuring Craig Woolard are a legendary Beach Music band started in 1958. To say that the Embers play beach music is an understatement. After 17 albums and numerous single releases, The Embers are one of the most popular bands as well as one of the most active groups in the country.

Having been inducted into the South Carolina Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame and most recently the South Carolina Beach Music Hall of Fame, The Embers are honored to carry the moniker of North Carolina’s Official Ambassadors of Music. This group has traveled the country and the world and have performed for every event imaginable from the highest dignitaries to the hottest back yard frat parties.

The third week of September, 1978, was marked the beginning of an era, the formation of The Fantastic Shakers, known as the "South's Finest Show Band." Since the inception of the band, the have performed over 6,000 engagements. They have performed from New York to Florida and all throughout the Southeast. South Carolina's Grand Strand has become the band's summer home and their hit single "Myrtle Beach Days" catapulted The Shakers to the top of the Carolinas musical groups.

This combination of experience and longevity has allowed The Fantastic Shakers to possess a level of versatility few other groups can match. With five lead vocalists and up to three horns, they can perform almost any style of music from up-tempo dance and rock to the smooth easy listening for the more subdued occasions. The music is GREAT but what sets The Fantastic Shakers apart is the personality of the group. From start to finish every performance becomes a PARTY! The fun starts at the first note and doesn’t stop until the last. A performance by The Fantastic Shakers is not just a party, it is an EVENT!

The Shakers have won many awards through the various beach music awards associations through the years. This list includes two-time show group of the year, three time album of the year, and lead singer Bo Schronce has been named male vocalist of the year on four different occasions as well as induction into the Hall of Fame.

Adult tickets are $20.00 in advance if purchased by 4:00 pm at Friday, July 27th and tickets will be sold at the gate for $30.00.

For young adults ages 13-20 and designated drivers attending the festivals, the fee is $5 less per ticket. A designated driver / young adult ticket allows for unlimited tea, lemonade or water as available throughout the day.

Children under 12 will be admitted for free with a paid adult admission.

Seating, sunscreen, and a canopy or other sun protection recommended. Canopies welcome in designated areas behind the dance and seating area.

Well behaved dogs on a leash are welcome.

No refunds, the music goes on rain or shine! No outside food or drink permitted.

The festival is held at the Nancy Morrisette Festival Field which is located at 3641 Black Ridge Road in Floyd, Virginia, just a half mile from the winery and restaurant.
