Hip Hop Studies at Virginia Tech presents Digging in the Crates Volume #8: Hip Hop & Liberation on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Newman Library Multipurpose Room at Virginia Tech.

Join Dumi Right (Virginia Tech Class of '95/DC), Omar Offendum (Los Angeles), Saba Taj (North Carolina), and Dr. Brandy Faulkner from the Virginia Tech Department of Political Science for a discussion of hip hop as a tool for liberation.

Performances and an open cypher will follow the discussion.

There will also be giveaways from One Collective Goods Co. for the audience!

Admission is free and all are welcome.

This event is part of the Moss Arts Center, Virginia Tech project Salaam: Exploring Muslim Cultures and is made possible by a grant from the Association of Performing Arts Professionals; Building Bridges: Arts, Culture, and Identity, a component of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation; and the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art.
