Description:
The Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts presents the Virginia Tech Fall Choir Showcase on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech.

The Chamber Singers, Tech Men, and Women’s Chorus share the stage for an afternoon of inspiring an entertaining harmony in this School of Performing Arts performance.

The Chamber Singers will perform an acapella version of Bruno Mars "Uptown Funk" and Renaissance motets by William Byrd and Josquin des Prez.

Sydney Guillaume's "Tchaka" will be performed by The Chamber Singers with members of the VT percussion studio. Tchaka is one of the most popular meals in Haitian cuisine. It's a 'melting pot' - a tasty mélange of different food products... Likewise, Haitian folkflore consists of a huge variety of rhythms and dances that when mixed together give birth to extraordinary works."

Tech Men will be performing a medley of favorite tunes from Leonard Bernstein's "West Side Story" - ending with the lively "Gee, Officer Krupke."

Women's Chorus will perform a wonderful variety of music, including pieces in Hungarian and Korean.

Tickets are $10.00 for the general public and $7.00 for students.

Tickets can be purchased online, by phone by calling the Moss Arts Center Ticket Office at 540-231-5300 or in person at the Moss Arts Center Ticket Office.

Advance ticket purchases are encouraged to avoid waiting in-line at the box office. Tickets will also be available at the box office one hour prior to the performance.
